…yesterday while running a few errands. While shopping, I was approached by a woman who told me she loved my scarf. She too loves scarves but is so unsure about how to wear them. I shared a few ideas with her and started thinking that her concerns may be shared by many people. So I thought I would share a few ideas to help everyone wear their scarves confidently and beautifully. Scarves are fashionable and functional and add flare to your look.

You can choose to wear scarves
…simply tied loosely around the neck with a knot or clasp in front. There are other ways to wear a scarf that are still neck wear, but have a totally different appearance. A scarf can be worn more closely around the neck, almost covering the entire neck, leaving a tube appearance. The closure can be obvious or the scarf can simply be tucked into place with no loose ends. A long narrow scarf may be wrapped once around the neck with the long ends either in front or in back.
It is easy to incorporate some jewelry into your look as well. A scarf can be draped and pinned into place around the shoulder area. Use your favorite brooch or decorative pin to hold the scarf in place over the shoulder. The scarf can be formed into a loose circle and may be symmetrical or might be placed in an asymmetrical way. This type of arrangement softens a harsh or bland outline, adding color and softness to even the most basic outline.
To achieve a sheek look try head scarves:
A scarf folded with edges folded in becomes a great head band or bandeau. You can leave the long ends loose or have a completely smooth band around the head. Bright colors against the hair can be very attractive. This look has become popular in Hollywood. If you love the idea of silk scarves, spend some time playing with the designs.
