Scarves are a great accessory to formal wear. Scarves add flare to business suites and a scarf adds instant chic to that little black dress. How to Wear Your Scarf
You can wear a square dress scarf like a shawl. If your scarf is long enough you can wrap it around your shoulders. To secure it in place use a pin or brooch or tie the two ends together in a single knot.
Another idea for a dress scarf is to let it hang straight down under the edges of your jacket. This adds colour and it also creates vertical lines to lengthen your body. You can wear this style with a dress or skirt. However just be sure to use a scarf that is made from light weight fabrics so that they don’t add bulk to your style. Silk scarves are great for this look.
Your dress scarves can also be worn in a simple knot at your mid-chest. Silk scarves and other light weight fabrics are perfect for this look. Silk scarves come in so many different colours and in so many vibrant patterns. They are the perfect choice to compliment your look and make a statement.
If you have smaller scarves they can be worn as a neck wrap. This look is great for men and women 
and it adds instant flare to a plain jacket. To achieve this look lay the scarf flat. Take two opposite outer corners and fold them until they meet at the center of the scarf. Fold the scarf lengthwise until the scarf resembles a flattened tube with pointed ends. Now you are ready to tie the scarf around your neck. Wrap the scarf around your neck twice and tie to the front or side of your neck.
I have even seen scarves used with bridesmaids dresses to compliment the bride and groom’s choice of colours for their wedding. With so many different looks you can achieve with scarves, they truly are the best accessory to have this season.
