Scarves take up very little room in your luggage and they are easy to carry in your handbag. What makes scarves a vacation essential is their versatility. Scarves are typically worn around the neck. They add style, elegance and colour to your wardrobe as well as keeping the chill off on those chilly evenings. If it turns out to be cooler than expected scarves can be draped around your shoulders as a wrap.

Scarves can also be worn as head scarves. Head scarves are worn for many reasons. 
Some reasons include keeping you warm and protecting you from the sun. I have used my scarf many times to cover my head as I run from shop to shop in the rain. Pair your head scarf with a great pair of sunglasses and you have a sheek and fashionable look.
If your scarf is large enough it can be tied around your waist as a fun beach cover. Beach scarves have become very trendy on the beach. In addition to being fashionable they help protect you from the sun and sand. Because scarves come in such a wide variety of colours it is easy to create a fun and flirty look for the beach.
And don’t forget that flight to and from your destination. I always pack a scarf when I fly. It provides a pillow if I need one and it helps keep the chill off me while I wait in the airport or during my flight. It is perfect especially when transitioning to a different climate.
